From day to day, night to night...
Children are a blessing from God. The diapers, bottles and sticky hands are only here for a short peak of parenting. The sound of feet running back in forth, clicking of toys and Mr. Bubble bath foam are what roams in your daily agenda when you have children. Soon, you have highly opinionated little food critics and awesome helpers around the house.
Sons and daughters...
Precisely, what differentiates with having sons or daughters?! While I don't personally have sons I do indeed have daughters, bonus ones even. In my experience, daughters teach you tenderness, patience and grace.
This Sunday my husband, Kevin and I drove up to Millerton Lake with our blended family- we truly feel very blessed living so close to such stunning locations.
Once we arrived, our children hopped out of the Tahoe and ran across scattered fields. The weather was a perfect illustration of what God creates for us all. Through the green, blooms were casting out their vibrate shades of purples, yellows and oranges. Gentle breezes, sounds of bees {not my favorite part, nor my girl's haha} and the view of fluffy clouds surrounded us.
As I looked out at all this beauty, I see my husband too enjoying the view, his daughters. Through it all, I saw him most happy when seeing his girls "happy" and "carefree". Like out of a book or movie. My heart was full that moment.
I pulled out my camera and began taking portraits of Tenley, our nine and half year old. She's our heart in the family; Tenley is the first to care for any of her siblings and the one you can depend on. She loves the camera also, which made it extremely effortless taking photos of her. She runs to her dad and hops on his back as they walk a trail. I snap photos of the two as Mackenzie joins in on the fun, she's six years old and full of curiosity.
Kevin must be in heaven at his point because now all four daughters surround him. To his right stands our intelligent and beautiful daughter, Angeliah. She's my firstborn, the one whom I owe a lot to; I am the woman I am today because of this young lady. In my husband's arms is the one and only, Madison Noelle; she's our baby- the glue to us all With her innocence, energy and beauty, I'd say Kevin and I are very fortunate.
Mackenzie now has her solo photo session; she's our spunky, brave and blue eyed daughter. She loves bugs, playsets at parks and is always down for anything. Kevin and I feel Mackenzie is our easiest child so far to raise {knock-on-wood}.
Sundays are for relaxing, feeling free and preparing for the week ahead. I'd say ours was just that and more. My husband and I hope to preserve these moments as much as possible; it's a good thing I'm our photographer haha But even with that being the case, I hope our children remember these moments and treasure the simplicity of us all being together as one.
To love is to hold. I love our family and all that God blesses us with. To our daughters, all of them, know your worth, remember your values and never stop loving with your whole heart.
with all my love,
mom {Cil-lah}
